The Soldiers Table Unveiled
Episode 3 concluded with a major cliffhanger and revealed the initial group of adventurers who will split off from the central cast to undertake their separate journey, distinct from the additional parties.
The combat-focused team includes the determined fighter (brought to life by Travis Willingham), the nimble rogue (the talented performer), the fierce warrior (the cast member), Wicander (Sam Riegel), and Kattigan Vale (the actor).
The Reason for Division
With a large ensemble, it was obvious from the outset that keeping everyone at a single group would be impossible.
That’s why, the first four episodes of Campaign 4 serve as an Overture, intertwining the characters’ stories before branching into three smaller tables: Soldiers, Schemers, and Questers.
What Defines the Combat Party
Per the Dungeon Master, the combat-focused party is for players who are drawn to a traditionally charged combat and conflict-driven story mode where non-violent answers are rare.
At first glance, characters like the squeamish cleric the cleric might seem mismatched, but the developments of episode 3 make it clear why these particular heroes are best suited for the warrior group.
Motivations for Departure
First, the party knows exactly where to head next after a intense opening clash with the enemy group.
An old friend of Thjazi Fang—whose passing kicked off the narrative’s action—manipulated the foes for his selfish purposes, invading the hidden lair, assaulting Thimble, and stealing all the enchanted items to auction.
Casimir then cleared his debts and fled to a secure base in the northern region, beyond Dol-Makjar, with Cyd Pridesire close behind.
Individual Reasons
Moreover, each character has a personal reason to depart the urban setting:
- Thimble, as the close ally and best friend, wants revenge.
- The knowledgeable figure has experience in Timmony and warns that it is a dangerous location.
- The strong character and Wicander, having disobeyed his house’s orders to execute Teor and instead rescued him, have no safe haven.
- Yet, their position as key figures in House Halovar could enable the group reach areas they usually can’t.
- Moreover, The fighter pledged a unbreakable promise to The savior for his rescue and will now go with him wherever.
Fugitives
Lastly, all of them are wanted by the authorities that rule the city for a multiple motives, making staying in the city dangerous:
- The agile adventurer and The character are known criminals.
- The strong figure and The healer defied the powerful family and the army of fiends they are allied with.
- The fighter is wanted dead by House Halovar.
This results in them few options but to journey toward Timmony in search of the antagonist.
